Passover, Easter: Gospel of John continued

John 3
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.  "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
John 6
...they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."
...Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
...what will you think if you see me, the Son of Man, return to heaven again?  It is the Spirit who gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. ...At this point many of his disciples turned away and deserted him. Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, "Are you going to leave, too?"  Simon Peter replied, "Lord, to whom would we go? You alone have the words that give eternal life.  We believe them, and we know you are the Holy One of God."  Then Jesus said, "I chose the twelve of you, but one is a devil."  He was speaking of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, one of the Twelve, who would betray him.
